Tre’s Check the Kidneys Foundation

Turning one family's journey with childhood kidney cancer into hope, awareness, and support for others.

Our Story

In September 2025, our son Tre was diagnosed with Wilms tumor, a rare form of childhood kidney cancer. As parents, we were suddenly thrust into a world of surgeries, chemotherapy, scans, uncertainty, and fear, with no roadmap and no warning.
Tre’s courage throughout his treatment inspired us to create something bigger than ourselves. Tre’s Check the Kidneys Foundation was established to raise awareness of pediatric kidney conditions, support families navigating childhood cancer, and advocate for earlier detection and education. Today, Tre is thriving and we are committed to helping other families find hope during their most difficult moments.

Mission Statement

“To educate, support, and advocate for children and families affected by pediatric kidney disease and childhood kidney cancer.”

Three Pillars — Impact Areas

EDUCATION

Providing families with the knowledge to recognize early warning signs of pediatric kidney disease, including conditions linked to kidney cancer that are often overlooked at birth.

FAMILY SUPPORT

Standing beside families through the fear of diagnosis, the grind of treatment, and the long road of recovery, because the medical system alone is never enough.

ADVOCACY

Pushing for earlier screening, better awareness, and community partnerships that put children's lives and outcomes first.
